Cortland Hale, high school football player, plays in all-star game…..and he’s autistic! Oh, the possibilities!

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Cortland Hale last night at a dinner for the captains and committee members for the Walk Now For Autism. He stood up and told us his story, and experience with autism and how he so bravely followed his dream to play football. He ended up not only playing for Brookwood High school, but he earned honorable mention all county, and a spot in the second county all-star game in the Georgia Dome. Can you imagine?! Check out these amazing stories of how Cortland overcame the struggles and obstacles he faced when, learning to be on a team, learning to play football and now learning to be a public speaker. Every goal he has made for himself he has reached.
An absolute inspiration to all of us!
I sat next to a woman who has an autistic son that is 5 years old who does not speak yet. When Cortland spoke it brought her to tears. I put my hand on her shoulder and said, “that will be your son in 15 years”. You know what? I believe that, and I believe that every autistic child has that capability as seen in my blogs. Now lets go out there and prove it!
